Basically for various reasons I'm a late developer regarding women and relationships but as I'm rapidly approaching 40 I feel I need to start looking at who's out there in the hope that I find that special someone for me. My anxiety, nerves and lack of confidence certainly hasn't helped me so far but I know I have it in me to be in a relationship, its just a case of finding the right person. I generally do prefer a quiet and simple lifestyle and am looking for a patient and understanding woman who can gradually bring me out of my shell as I can be quite a chatty person once I get to know someone and I do get out and about. What do you like most about where you currently live?

The peace and quiet of the area in general.

What do you enjoy most about your current job?

That I'm confident in my job roles which is very important to me.

What are your favourite leisure activities?

playing golf, tennis, and snooker and also playing card and board games.

Where in the world are your favourite places?

I haven't been abroad for over 20 years which limits my answer!, but I've been to Paignton (near torquay)for the past few years which I enjoy.

Where in the world would you love to visit?

From my previous answer I'm sure you've noticed that I'm not big on travel but I am going to Spain later this year to celebrate my 40th which I'm looking forward to (that is spain and not becoming 40 by the way!)

What would you do on an ideal date?

Meet for a coffee or go for a nice walk and just generally chat to one another to see if we get on.

What are you looking for in a partner?

Understanding, patience and honesty are important to me being the way I am, but basically someone who I just feel comfortable with so that we can be compatable with each other most of the time.

What makes a good relationship?

Honesty, loyalty and consideration to each others needs so that we get on a lot more than when we don't in terms of staying happy together.

What makes you laugh?

The comedy programme 'not going out', my niece and things or comments which come out of the blue from time to time.

What music do you like?

Mainly 80's stuff like pet shop boys, dire straits, annie lennox, and kate bush, although i also like abba and neil diamond more perhaps from the 70's.

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

Although it doesn't sound much of a highlight, probably at the moment passing my driving test as it was so important for me to achieve and it wasn't easy regarding my nerves but got there on my 5th attempt in the end.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

Finding that special person for me in the hope that i will become a more relaxed person in general as a result of being in a successful relationship
