I’m not wanting to get too enmeshed, independence is important.
What do you like most about where you currently live?
I’ve just moved to Bournemouth and I’m really pleasantly surprised how much green space there is for walking and cycling within easy reach. More than the village that I was in previously.
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
I have two jobs. I have an engineering job where I enjoy designing systems, and I get satisfaction from seeing them performing to the customers’ expectations.
I also teach English as a Foreign Language, and I enjoy the social aspect of the classroom, and I get satisfaction from seeing the students progress.
What are your favourite leisure activities?
Walking and cycling when I can find time. Cinema especially world cinema. Reading. Cooking especially Italian. Eating out. Travel, though I haven’t done as much as I like and plan to make up for lost time. Immersive theatre, though alas most of that is in London. Music festivals. Museums.
Where in the world are your favourite places?
Italy especially Florence.
Where in the world would you love to visit?
Almost everywhere! I want to discover more of Italy, also I’d like to go to the less well-known European countries. There are plenty of places in Britain width going to. I’d especially like to experience somewhere with a completely different culture, Japan being top of the list.
What would you do on an ideal date?
A really good film, probably a French one.
Followed by a superb meal in an Italian restaurant.
What are you looking for in a partner?
Warmth, friendliness, kindness, companionship, humour, intelligence.
What makes a good relationship?
Selflessness, openness, honesty. Bring there for each other in the tough times as well as the good.
What makes you laugh?
My friends would say that I have a terrible sense of humour. I love dad jokes, and bizarre and weird humour.
What music do you like?
I have quite eclectic tastes. It’s difficult to describe what I like, all sorts of bits and pieces, no single genre. I love going to music festivals and discovering new bands. My favourite discoveries of recent years would be Celtarabia, Echo Town, and Disraeli and the Small Gods (though sadly 1 of these has split up and another isn’t currently gigging). have a google for those and let me know what you think. Also comedy bands like The Fecktones, Hattie Hatstar, Jeff Japers...
What has been the highlight of your life so far?
Discovering Italy. I didn’t know what good food was until I went to Italy. And jaw-dropping architecture and art. I even discovered that medieval art could be interesting (thanks to an exceptional tour guide)
What are you looking forward to in the future?
I definitely want to travel a lot more and discover the authentic feel of different places. I’d like to find places where the people are warm.
You have one wish, what would you wish for? (And, no, you can’t wish for more wishes!)
