A letter to my future Partner.

Dear Partner,
I am writing to you before I even meet you. You may think this rather odd, but I want to set out my promises to you in advance. At some time in the future you will be able to gauge whether or not I was genuine, or whether this I all some ruse to attract your attention.
I promise to be an interesting partner, who brings joy to your life, with much laughter and fun. I promise that your happiness will be my top priority, because if you are happy, then I will be too. I promise that if our relationship deepens, I will always be faithful and my feelings will never just vanish once they have arrived. I promise I will take my share of the cooking duties and that I will never poison you on purpose. I promise to travel with you, to walk along golden beaches with you, and to enjoy the little pleasures just because you are there. I promise to go clothes shopping with you and love telling you how gorgeous you look in well chosen garments (though I may need the odd coffee break). I promise to be a warm and sensual partner and never, ever, turn away when you need my hugs. I will always support you; when life deals you lemons I will be your gin.. I promise to buy you flowers for ever, but not so often that they lose their effect.
I cannot promise that you won’t find me immersed in a history book when I said I would cut the grass. I cannot promise that I will be brief if you come with me to a castle or stately home. I cannot promise that I won’t try to drag you to Cornwall at least once a year, or that I might not at any time suddenly ask you to sleep in a caravan with me. I cannot promise not to burn the sausages at one of my legendary barbecues, or not to smell of garlic after my Friday night beer and curry out with my two lifelong mates.
I hope to meet you sooner rather than later, because life is too short and beautiful things need to be shared.
