A wee bit about me . . .

I'm very arty.

I work on Aircraft for a living, though, taking a sabbatical at the moment.

Currently in Christchurch in order to seek out a place to retire to.

Have a tangential sense of humour. Heroes include: Spike Milligan, Tommy Cooper, Dave Allen and many more of the same ilk.

Like to do crosswords; cryptic or 'easy'. Cycling, (the pootling around sort) filming/editing, playing guitar, carving (well advanced whittling).

Have lived and worked abroad in Europe and the Middle East and travelled a bit but still more places yet to see.

Love to be by water, be it the sea or large river. Goes to the core of our beginnings don't you think??

Love our language and its rich mix of words derived from the many other languages of our invaders.

A friend, who happens to be female, saw my previous Profile and was taken aback by what she read so 'advised' me to amend it to what you have read (if you got that far and didn't just skip through it?). I have found that it has not made one scintilla of difference to the outcome but feel I'm not being totally 'me' so here is an addendum . . .

I'm a Sapiophile and looking for the same. You may not know you're a Sapiophile as, until I came across the word, I had no idea there was a definition for what I consider myself to be, so do yourself a favour and look it up you may be one without knowing it. Of course, if you already are then please give us a shout.
