About the time of COVID was just out of long-term relationship with someone pretty special, but we had agreed, mutually, that we could go no further. The temptation was to stop living for a while , or to move on with optimism and hope, and I am here choosing the latter, if somewhat hamstrung until the padt year by above related restrictions.

My employment history is primarily within the caring professions and I consider myself to have contributed significantly in terms of my professionalism and openly humane and sensitive approach to the work. The latter was really my undoing and led to early retirement due to stress.

Since then I have periodically followed my other long term passion for literature and creative writing, achieving both Honours and Masters Degrees. It is my intention now to return to my writing with renewed energy and ambition. This in addition to the medium to longer term project of upgrading my home.

I share my large home with my adult son and his partner, and am very much still settling in to the Scarborough area. I would describe myself as sensitive and deep thinking person, certainly nobody's fool. I do also have a real sense of fun and a wry sense of humour.

I am retired on a very modest employment-related pension, and so live a necessarily modest lifestyle, with extensive travel and and social activities rather beyond my means. Additionally, a long term back issue means that I am am not really up to long hikes or hill climbing etc. Nevertheless, I get about, drive, and enjoy what Scarborough and the wider area has to offer, and the occasional holiday is not out of the question.

So this is me still looking.
