I'm a non-smoking Welsh man who finds joy in life's simple pleasures—like a good glass of red wine and engaging conversation. After more than 30 years away, I found myself drawn back to the area where I grew up, seeking the peace and familiarity of my roots.
In a past life, I worked as a flying instructor, which took me to Dallas, Texas.
Unfortunately, my time there was cut short due to heart surgery necessitated by blocked arteries. Now, I've settled into a rented bungalow in a cosy village in Wales, savouring the slow pace of life.
Although I'm quite content with the laid-back lifestyle, I'm not one to shy away from a spontaneous trip in my camper for an adventure, (I'm just back from a month in Scotland)
perhaps catching a show or two along the way.
Walking is one of my favourite pastimes—I've even conquered Snowdon, although the descent was just as memorable!
I'm not one for fancy attire; jeans suit me just fine. And when it comes to chores, well, let's just say my kitchen table stays cluttered unless company's on the way. But don't let that fool you—I can whip up a mean risotto on any given day.
There's something about the crackling warmth of my wood burner that brings me joy, especially during the winter months. I'm always up for good conversation, whether it's over wine and cheese or a late-night game of Scrabble. And if you need a hand with anything, from putting up shelves to a soothing back massage, I'll give it a go.
While I'm an early riser and a night owl, given the choice between mowing the lawn and enjoying a leisurely pub lunch, well, I'll let the grass grow a bit longer. And while I'm sort of okay with pets, I prefer to keep them out of the bedroom—dogs and cats alike.
