I have spent all of my working life as engineer in various local companies, and have spent the last 10 years self employed manufacturing small components. After 43 years of marriage cancer has made me a widower (i find this an unpleasant word). I'm a non-smoker. I don't particularly like alcohol but will drink to be sociable. I don't like football or cricket. As a younger man played snooker which i still like to follow. I don't watch much mainstream TV, however I am an avid consumer of documentaries, wildlife, archeology etc. I do like comedy as I do have a good sense of humour whether politically correct or not! I own my own home and i would not be without a car. I have 3 offspring 2 boys motor technicians and a daughter who is a teacher. I like visiting local seaside towns and villages and enjoying local countryside now I'm retired. I like listening to music particularly 60s and country going back years, still using vinyl as well as cds.

Beautiful open countryside and good neighbors

not going to work!retired

What are your favourite leisure activities?

Walking and visiting places.i recently have taken an interest in growing carnivorous plants.Trying to work out how this mobile phone works...And this computer.

Where in the world are your favourite places?

not traveled enough to make a judgment.I have visited Australia new Zealand Tasmania and some EU countries

Where in the world would you love to visit?

Again the answer is the same as above.

What would you do on an ideal date?

difficult one. depends perhaps on what the lady in question would want to do.on a first meeting perhaps coffee somewhere or drink in a rural retreat.At the end of the day the fact is no amount of profiling will take away that its what is in the heart that matters.

What are you looking for in a partner?

what every man wants.articulate good humoured person who can see the funny side in there own mistakes.(as well as mine)!

What makes a good relationship?

being in agreement with one another.sharing without being possessive and compromise.if you disagree work round Try not to be critical and accept your partners faults

What makes you laugh?

looking in the mirror is good place to start.after that everything in the world will fall in to place.As a man from the sixties i find politically incorrect funny but may today be seen as racist which i am definitely not.

What music do you like?

country music not modern country though.music from the sixties.Vinton Shannon Orbison and doo wop have a rather eclectic taste in music.Joni James ruby Murray Connie Francis Brenda lee skeeter Davis to name but a few.And Runrig guess i am just an old fashioned guy when it comes to to music...

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

getting married and seeing my offspring happy in their own lives.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

looking back when I am 100 And obviously finding a long term partner
