Why are you using a dating site?

After a 38 year relationship and marriage, during which I was totally loyal and honest even when thousands of miles apart and very contented, I have had no real interaction with any other females, also have minimal self confidence and low self belief/esteem. No idea of how, in the current times, to correctly approach a member of the opposite sex, I have no chat up lines or patter.
After over 4 years of solitude, I have no idea of how to even start a conversation with a total stranger.
My absolute fear of rejection and embarrassment only reduces my self confidence.
Even the thought of someone recognising my name or picture on a dating sites increases my fear of embarrassment and ridicule. Hence the photo.(sorry)

I am often told that I do not look anywhere near my age. I am also told that I look younger than my son, which gives us both a laugh.

Maybe I am better off staying in solitude, but I really miss the intimacy and closeness of a caring and loving companion, even the simple things like holding hands while out, and just saying 'I love you', at least once EVERY day.
